CANADA'S LOW-CARBON FUTURE

LIFE IN 2050

A cornerstone of Canada's efforts to combat and mitigate the effects of climate change is its commitment to a Paris Agreement target of a 30% reduction in GHG emissions (relative to 2005 levels) by the year 2050 -  a commitment that impacts all Canadians. But what does a low-carbon future, in which Canada succeeds in meeting its GHG targets, actually look like? What would it mean for an ordinary person simply trying to live their life?

We took the information from several "Futures Reports" - cutting-edge research that uses modelling and data science to build an image of how Canada could reach its Paris target in a cost-effective and beneficial way - and put together a visualization of what your life might look like in this aspirational low-carbon future.
